Mobile Dentistry Providers



James P. Hayden Jr. DMD
Dr. Hayden provides mobile dental services to E.N.D.S. patients in the mid-Willamette Valley and in some coastal cities. He graduated in 1989 from Brescia College, with Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Chemistry. He then attended the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, from which he graduated in 1993. In 1995, he completed his General Practice Residency at the Lexington Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The same year, he began working for Exceptional Needs Dental Services. Dr. Hayden is based in Salem, and works with his assistant Kimberly Paxton, full time for the E.N.D.S. program providing quality dental services to E.N.D.S. patients.





John B. Aspros DMD
Dr. Aspros, aka “Dr. John”,  provides both mobile and hospital based dental services to E.N.D.S. patients in the greater Portland metropolitan area and in some coastal cities. He graduated in 1992 from the Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry in Portland, with a Doctorate degree in Dental Medicine. From 1992-1995 he taught as a pre-clinical and clinical instructor at the OHSU School of Dentistry. He began a private practice in 1993, and continues to see patients 3 days a week at his office near the Lloyd Center. In 1997 he joined the E.N.D.S. program as a provider of hospital based dentistry services, and in 1999, he began providing mobile dentistry services to E.N.D.S. patients. With the help of his long-time assistant Alice Loban, Dr. Aspros devotes six to eight days per month to the E.N.D.S. program providing quality dental services to E.N.D.S. patients. 




Geriatric Dental Group
Geriatric Dental Group has provided quality dental services and treatment to the elderly and to those with special needs since 1974. The Geriatric Dental Group clinic is a full-time, wheelchair accessible facility with street-level entrances and an automatic door to enable easy access for patients. Geriatric Dental Group also offers mobile dental services to non-ambulatory patients, and for this purpose E.N.D.S. contracted with Geriatric Dental Group in 1995. Geriatric Dental Group continues to provide skilled and compassionate dental services to E.N.D.S. patients today. Geriatric Dental Group is a non-profit organization. Limited Access Permit (LAP) Hygienists   

 

 

Sandy Nelson, BS, RDH owns and manages Smiles All Around, a company that provides mobile dental hygiene services to the elderly population in Portland, Salem, and some areas in between.  She graduated from Oregon Health & Science University in 1967, and she currently works at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center delivering dental hygiene services.  She has spoken at a number of events regarding dental hygiene services and has written several articles detailing the need for better dental hygiene for elderly and disabled individuals, as well as techniques to better service these populations.  She has been seeing E.N.D.S. patients since February 2003.   
 

 

Zina Burt, BSDH, RDH owns and manages Preventive Dental, LLC in Corvallis.  She graduated in 1992 from the Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls with a Batchelor of Science in Dental Health, after which she worked 5 years in public health at Klamath Tribal Health.  She has been seeing E.N.D.S. patients since January 2003. Zina provides mobile dental hygiene services to patients in mid-valley Oregon, Albany, Lebanon, and Corvallis, as well as some surrounding cities.   
 

E.N.D.S. hygienists are also available to deliver dental in-service training sessions to instruct nurses and care providers at facilities on how to provide oral health care to residents.  This service is available for a fee. 

 

Kailua Long, BS, RDH began her career in dentistry in 1971 as a dental assistant, and graduated in 1997 from the Oregon Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree. She has worked in California, Alaska, and Oregon, and even in Costa Rica to bring dentistry to a small village there through Northwest Medical Teams. She started her own business, Long Time Hygiene Care; providing care to elderly and disabled patients 1-2 days per week. She also works part-time at two private dental offices, and she began working for E.N.D.S. in September 2007.
